My First Cavity...

Today was my first visit to a new dentist in TC. Agenda was to get some bite-wing x-rays, meet the staff and get an initial check by the dentist. I go back later for an actual cleaning. Nice office, nice staff and fairly young, friendly dentist. They use a camera to look around, which displays on a screen that you can see while you're laying there with your mouth open. It was interesting... as my dentist in Ohio didn't use a camera.

At any rate, I have very deep grooves in my molars, something I've been aware of since I was young. One molar in particular has a tiny dark spot... most likely stains from coffee or wine, and my dentist in Ohio had been watching it closely for probably the last year. Well... it has just started to turn "tacky"... and that is a sign of decay. CRAP! So... at the age of 38 I guess I have my first cavity, or what appears to be the start of my first cavity!

The dentist told me that my teeth are in great shape and that I take very, very good care of my teeth. I'm thinking, yeah, well not good enough if you're telling me I have a cavity! Think I'll go eat some sugar...

Don't worry Sis, not many people can actually say they got their first cavity at 38 years old, that's pretty darn good! The fact of the matter is no matter how well you take care of your teeth, the older you get, your body just starts to change and wear out, (don't we already know that) LOL, same with your teeth! I'd say a job well done at keeping your mouth CAVITY FREE for 38+ years!!! Keep smiling, you have beautiful teeth! Love ya, ;-D
