Forced to Find Another Place To Live

We reached the end of October without the house being done.  By the first of November we were waiting to pass final inspections.  All and all not too big a deal; there wasn't snow on the ground yet!  The issue was the campground was closing... which meant our temporary living arrangement (Jack's parents fifth wheel camper) was up.  Where were we supposed to go now?!?!

Since we have a dog, and a barky one at that - we determined a hotel type option wasn't a good idea.  So we started hunting for a cabin that we could rent weekly.  The plan was to rent for one week and hope the house was done, but have a plan B in place... which really meant plan on being able to rent for more than one week.

Using the Internet, we found a small cabin not too far away that seemed to fit the bill; the price was right basically.  We pulled the camper out of the campground and parked it at our house then headed to Neebish for a long weekend... a place where we could get away and relax... if only for a few days.

Back in TC, I'll never forget the first time I saw the cabin we were going to rent.  I asked Jack if he rented us little house on the prairie or what?!?!  This thing was not exactly what I had pictured in my mind... but it was gonna have to do.  As hubby would say, it's "character building".

Site #241... was home sweet home just over 2 months

Found my first pudding stone at Neebish

Couldn't fit this pudding stone in the truck to take home... lol!

or as I affectionately called it "the shit shack"

At least the bathroom was fairly updated and clean

  1. Well, you've been up on the mountain (Neebish) and down in the S--- Shack. Now for the new house, you're headed back up again!
