Time Flies

Since we live in a rental house and aren't responsible for lawn upkeep or home maintenance I thought this time of year would be relaxing and quiet with time to do all things I want/need to do... HOWEVER, it's been anything but that. Here we are at almost the end of June... where did the Spring go?!?!

Hubby and I have been busy purchasing things for the new house... we are starting to run out of storage space! We've bought some of our appliances, lighting, faucets, sinks, etc... it's fun, but also tedious going over everything making sure it's in perfect condition. I can't tell you how many times lights had to go back because of cracked glass or scratches on the metal bases.

Rilee has been doing well, except this week we were informed by the daycare coordinator that they thought Rilee has a bladder infection... she had several small accidents at daycare on Wednesday and upon cleaning them up they found blood in her urine. Jack got the pleasurable job of collecting a urine sample from Rilee and driving it to the vet, where it was confirmed she has a bladder infection. She's currently on antibiotics. She's only 11 months old, so I hope this doesn't set the stage for future bladder infections... as I know mini-schnauzers can be prone to bladder/kidney infections. Somehow we got lucky with our other two dogs never having those problems.

Hubby is training for a half marathon that he will be running on June 28th. Training for it has left him with a shin splint and aches and pains he never used to get when training for runs or triathlons. Sucks getting older! He says this will be his last half marathon.

I seem to have my blood pressure under control right now and have discussed a plan with my doctor to keep it under control. Right now diet and exercise modifications are working.

In the meantime we are getting ready to vacation at Prince Edward Island, Canada, with friends! Then when we get back we'll seriously start looking for a new rental house. We don't plan on living at the current one after our lease is up... no garage, a snake in the basement, catching 7 mice in the house, and no air-conditioning is enough of a reason for me to move! Here's to hoping we find something in a timely manner!
