Right Where I'm Meant To Be...

Everything happens for a reason. I thought of that after watching Slumdog Millioniare. Every detail of our life is all for the development of who we are; and who we are to become. Life is about change and growth... and becoming our "best self". Sometimes we forget what we've got, who we are, and who we are not. 2008 was, for me, a year of struggle, stress and sadness. I'm on the other side of that struggle now... and I clearly see the growth from the struggle.

Renewed relationships with family and friends. An appreciation for the simple things in my life... my health, a job, dog breath, laughter, my own bed, giving, a roof over my head, marriage.

If I had any doubts as to if our move to Michigan was right or wrong... I have them no more. Things are falling into place; my life is "settled" again, and I have an overwhelming sense of being right where God wants me to be... that's here in Northern Michigan.

"God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world."
~ C.S. Lewis

I love what you said and agree 100%. We do often forget how much we each have to be thankful for and sometimes it takes going through tough times to remind us. I also believe that God doesn't put us through anything we can't handle and each struggle does make us stronger. It's always nice when life does settle down and you can look back at a situation and see what all you've learned and maybe, just maybe you can see that some good may have come of it. For me, some of the worst things I've had to go through in life have over time turned out to be some of the best things for me. They've steered me in a much better direction and I am a lot happier because of it.
