Basement Walls

Tonight we got to see the basement walls get finished.  Our basement walls are not poured walls or cement block, they are cement panels made in a factory, brought to the building site and set in place:

Advanced Precast Wall Design Reduces Materials used in the new Home.
~ Up to 70 % less concrete than conventional foundations.
~ Stud facing eliminates the need for additional wood framing prior to interior finishing.

Our basement is also a walk-out basement, so the entire back wall will be stick built.

Boy, it is coming along fast. I guess that is what you get when you hire a contractor. You really do have all sand don't you. Are you still planning on putting up spouting and gutters? I don't really think you will need them. Just not used to that down here. Keep the pictures coming.

Wow, looking great! That's really different than anything they do down here, the way they did your basement walls, at least I've never heard or seen it. Is that something really new or something they do more up in Michigan and not Ohio? Bet you are very pleased with the progress!

  5. Superior walls have been around for years; I think they are becoming more popular now. Jack researched them when we were living in Ohio. They use them in Ohio... the crew that did our walls had just come from a job site in Ohio.
