Hubby started the day before the crack of dawn getting up at 4:45am to run the Bayshore Half Marathon, which started at 7:30am. Roo and I were waiting for him at the finish line. This was probably the first time I've ever seen him come to the finish of a race looking like he's in serious pain. Turns out he was! He hurt his foot in a race earlier this year and had to back off on his training... he hadn't run in about two weeks (if I remember correctly) and then ran 13.1 miles today. His foot wasn't the problem though, it was his legs... he had bad cramps in his calf muscles... to the point he had to stop during the race to stretch. He said that stop probably cost him 10 minutes! Bottom line is he finished. (and in under 2 hours, and before a marathon runner finished... which was his goal!)
He's limping around tonight. I don't think he'll be back out running anytime soon. I'm sure his turning 40 this year has nothing to do with any of this! ;)

At least you finished Jack. Proud of you!
