This weekend I found out that my Grandma (the only Grandma I've ever had) has stage IV colon cancer. While surgery she had on Friday was successful, the prognosis is breaking my heart.
So I cried a little, I prayed a little, and I looked at pictures... this one is from last Christmas... one of my favorites of her... smiling with a box of chocolate!
Grandma loves chocolate... specifically chocolate covered peanuts (my favorite too!). I remember Grandma making me promise her (many years ago) that if she ever ended up in the hospital for any length of time that I would visit and bring her chocolate covered peanuts... and if she wasn't allowed to have them, then would I promise to bring them anyway and sneak them to her?
I promised I would.
She will definitely be in our prayers. Grandmas are VERY special people!

ReplyDeleteI'm having such a hard time with this. It's very hard to see her like she is. I've been praying and crying a lot. It's nice to think back of all the great memories we have.....we may have only "really" had one grandma but she sure is the best!
