Heading to my car after work I noticed swarms of seagulls flying overhead... and I thought, "now this isn't something I saw in central Ohio!"
I now call "home" a place where seagulls fly, sand is the soil -- with Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes less than 40 minutes away... which range in color from pale champagne to burnt sienna and roll and spike to 400 feet in height! I'm minutes away from a Great Lake so blue-green it's as beautiful as any ocean I've laid eyes on, and I'm within an hour's drive of five lighthouses!
Thanks to its many bays, coves and islands, the Traverse City area has 234 miles of continuous Lake Michigan shoreline and at least 95 inland lakes that are at least 50 acres in size.
Winter was amazing up here... we are now looking forward to Spring and Summer!! What a cool place to call home!!
