Diagnosis...

The EMG was a bit more painful than I remembered... but, it's over!

I have two things going on:

1. Carpal Tunnel in my left wrist, which is strange because I'm right-handed. It's not severe, but the test numbers confirm it. The doctor said I'm probably not noticing much pain from it, but I am to get fitted for a wrist splint to wear at work... preventing further damage is key.

2. Cubital Tunnel Syndrome... this is compression of the ulnar nerve behind the elbow, and what is causing most of my numbness and wrist pain. I'll be fitted for an elbow pad that I'm to wear while I sleep to prevent kinking up my arm, which compresses the nerve. I'm also to wear the elbow pad for a few weeks during the day to help me figure out when I'm kinking up my arm -- the idea is to not have it bent for long periods of time.

So... I think when I return to work after my surgery, I'm going to look pretty interesting with an elbow pad and wrist splint on! I'm sure I'm going to get all sorts of people asking me what I did... hmm... guess I have some time to come up with a good story!
